Outdoor Activities

Washpen Falls Overnight Camp
In the weekend we went to Washpen Falls (Winchester) for an overnight camp.
We had to make our own Bivouac's to sleep in for the night.
If I could do this again, I would move my Bivouac to better ground with better trees to tie my tarpaulin's to.

Cave Stream
We went to Cave Stream for our 7th William Pike Challenge
It was probably my favourite so far because as well as challenging, it was really fun too.

 Adrenalin Forest
I went to Adrenilin forest as one of my Outdoor Activities. It was really fun. I had attached to my harness:
A carabena
A pulley
The carabena was to connect me to the wire on the activity and the pulley was for straight wires (the pulley acted as a flying fox) I got as far as the start of Level 5 and got to the point where it was too hard for me to complete. I was really impressed with my result.

Central park Bike Ride
I went for a 3 hr bike ride around central park in New York! Central Park is located in the middle on Manhattan and it was very cool. We stopped and had a look at the John Lennon Memorial in a section of Central Park called Strawberry Fields - named after one of the Beatles songs

The Motukarara Rail Trail

A couple of months ago we went to the Motukararara Rail trail for a bike ride for the afternoon It is a 44km bike trail from Motukarara to Little river. It took us 5 hours (including our Ice Cream stop!)

ASHLEY GORGE CAMP
As part of the William Pike Challenge Award the year 7 & 8's had to sleep in tents on our camp.
I shared a tent with some mates
Ben, Matthew and Jack K

We slepped the full 3 nights in the tent and really enjoyed it

  1. You did a great job setting the tent up Nick. I could tell you and Ben had done it before!
